About me
Therapeutic Life Story Practitioner
Meet Deanna
I am the founder of Unfolding Life Stories. I have worked in out-of-home care for over 12 years, with the past 9 years dedicated to Therapeutic Life Story Work.
I believe every young person deserves the opportunity to understand their story alongside a trusted adult who can support them to explore their experiences with honesty, care and compassion. I am passionate about making Life Story Work accessible to children and young people in different ways, whether through All About Me, More About Me, Therapeutic Life Story Work or our Identity & Story workshops.
I want young people to have opportunities to engage with this work through the supports and relationships already around them, including out-of-home care, education and NDIS supports.
I also believe young people should have a choice in how they engage with the process. Every piece of work is guided by the young person, their interests, strengths and what matters most to them, creating experiences that are safe, meaningful and personal.
I support young people to better understand their past, strengthen important relationships and build a stronger sense of identity and hope for their future.
Unfolding Life Stories was created because every story matters, every child deserves to know that, and no young person should have to piece it together alone.

Unfolding Life Stories acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work and connect. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and recognise the continuing connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to Country, culture, community and story
