All About Me

A gentle introduction to life story work

All About Me is a creative and supportive therapeutic approach that provides children and young people with a safe space to explore their identity, emotions and sense of self.

Through drawing, storytelling and creative reflection, young people are encouraged to explore who they are today, what is important to them, their strengths, interests, hopes and dreams. The work creates opportunities for young people to express themselves in ways that feel natural and meaningful, while building connection, confidence and a stronger sense of belonging.

All About Me gives young people a voice and an opportunity to feel seen, heard and understood, while creating space to recognise and celebrate who they are.

Together we explore:

Who I am

My strengths and interests

My feelings and emotions

My culture, identity and belonging

The important people in my life

What makes me unique

All About Me offers a gentle beginning to Life Story Work, creating space to get to know each young person, understand what matters to them and explore what they may need from the journey ahead.

This first step allows us to work at their pace, build connection and notice what feels meaningful and appropriate for them. As their story begins to unfold, we can consider whether continuing with All About Me, moving into More About Me, or progressing to Therapeutic Life Story Work would best support their needs.

Where their story begins
